Project Background
The Ojota-Opebi Link Bridges & Approach Roads Project is a vital infrastructure development initiative spearheaded by the Lagos State Government to address traffic congestion and enhance connectivity within the Ojota-Opebi Corridor of Lagos, Nigeria. Lagos, being Africa’s largest megacity, faces significant challenges in managing its transportation networks due to its burgeoning population and robust economic activity. Therefore, the project aims to optimise mobility, streamline traffic flow, and bolster overall transportation efficiency in the region.

Statement Of Problem
The Ojota-Opebi Corridor experiences severe traffic congestion, hampering mobility and causing inconvenience to commuters. Inadequate infrastructure and poor traffic management exacerbate these issues, leading to delays and safety concerns. As a result, there is a pressing need to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity within the corridor to improve overall transportation efficiency and enhance the commuting experience for residents.

Proposed Solution
The Ojota-Opebi Link Bridges & Approach Roads Project proposes the construction of a 3.9 kilometer link bridge and approach roads to facilitate smoother traffic flow and enhance connectivity within the corridor. Innovative elements such as link bridges, deck on piles, mechanically stabilised earth embankments, and segregated bicycle lanes will be incorporated to optimise transportation infrastructure. These measures aim to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, enhance safety, and increase accessibility for commuters traversing the Ojota-Opebi Corridor.
